Written by humorist Leigh Anne Jasheway, Laugh Track & Field is a wacky, mostly made-up take on the sport that has given Eugene, Oregon the name “Track Town USA”. Each illustration depicts Leigh Anne’s invented origins of modern track and field events, including the source of the throwing discus before modern materials were developed (camels). The simple style of pen and shading used in these illustrations is at once expressive and quick to render, making it one of the more economical illustration styles.
